"This cafe is one of the highlights of Tsetserleg and should feature prominently on your itinerary. Sit down at one of the wooden tables, order a meal and leaf through a copy of Time or the Economist while you wait."

"We've had a tough time in the last few weeks, motorcycling on these rugged roads. The one thing that gave me the strength to keep going, was knowing I could get some 'real' food, a coffee, and a hot shower here at Fairfield."

"Thank you, thank you, thank you for this fantastic place! I'm feeling human again for the first time in weeks! I've had a proper hot shower, slept on a wonderfully soft mattress, and ... the coffee!! Thank you."

"Lunch and dinner options include lasagne, burgers with Indian mutton, chilli con carne, beef in beer sauce and Cornish pasties. Pastries are served all day long and are great snacks to take with you on the road."

"When I was shown to my room, I stood at the door and burst into tears - it was the first truly clean room I had seen in weeks. Basic, but beautiful!"

"We stayed at this hostel while traveling through Mongolia on a mission trip and were so surprised by the excellent food and amenities. The staff was fantastic, the rooms and bathrooms were totally comfortable, safe, and clean. The food was exceptional! Freshly baked bread that surpassed Great Harvest and Panera Bread."

"We have just come back from a week cycling in Arkhangai province and spent two nights at Fairfield. We hired bikes, panniers and cooking equipment for our trip from them; the bikes were superb. Murray was incredibly helpful with planning routes and advice on what to see. They also bought our return tickets to UB for us, did our laundry and made us sandwiches for the journey!"

"The Fairfield was hands-down the best budget place I've yet to find in Mongolia, and it's better than most of the non-budget place I've seen too. The rooms are clean and well-lit, the beds are ridiculously comfortable, the (hot!) showers are wonderful, the cafe was excellent, and the staff helped us organize a wonderful and very reasonably priced horse trek that we thoroughly enjoyed. Overfull, a perfect place to take a break from the grind of real Mongolia. Thanks for a great experience!"

"Tsetserleg is probably the most beautiful town in Mongolia. It is nestled in the mountains in an almost Alpine setting. Yet, it has very few facilities for outsiders. Of the options the Fairfield is the best. It offers simple rooms -- private or shared -- a bath down the hall. It is spotlessly clean, warm in the winter, and the high point is the wonderful bakery on the first floor. The staff is attentive and all speak good English. Despite the mud, dust, and snow of the town, the hotel is always immaculate."
