Day 1
Ulaanbaatar
Arrive into Ulaanbaatar airport and meet your guide and drivers who will transfer you to a hotel in the heart of downtown Ulaanbaatar.
If bringing your own bikes, you will be provided space to build them. If time allows, spend what’s left of the day exploring the many sights and sounds of Ulaanbaatar’s city centre.
Share a welcome dinner together to finish the evening.

Day 2
Ulaanbaatar to Arkhangai
Rise early and meet your cycling team before leaving the hustle and bustle of the city far behind. Drive 7-8 hours west into the wide open spaces of the Mongolian countryside.
Along the way, stop off at the Elsen Tasarkhai sands–nicknamed Mongolia’s ‘Mini Gobi’–for camel rides surrounded by scenic vistas of windblown dunes bordered by mountains and grasslands.
A little further down the road, visit the Erdene Zuu monastery in Kharhorin, the ancient capital of the Mongol Empire. Built in 1586, Erdene Zuu is steeped in history and is quite possibly the oldest Buddhist monastery in Mongolia.
Upon arrival in Arkhangai, get settled in and enjoy the hospitality and comfort of the Fairfield Arkhangai Guesthouse.

Day 3
Khorgo Volcano
In the morning, load up and drive 2.5 hours to the base of the dormant Khorgo Volcano. Climb the volcano and discover the enormous crater at the summit. From the top, you’ll also be rewarded with stunning views of the surrounding mountains as well as Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur (Great White Lake).
Head back down the slope for lunch before starting out on bikes. Ride approx. 60kms along the Suman River to your camp for the night: a magnificent site near the confluence of the Suman and Chuluut Rivers. Your camp crew will have already set the site up ahead of you, providing full service throughout the evening.

Day 4

Chuluut River Valley
Following a cooked breakfast, begin your day cycling the Chuluut canyon edge along a very short section of paved road, before getting back off road and into the beautiful Chuluut River Valley.
Snacks and lunch will be provided by the support team throughout the day.
Camp once more in a gorgeous spot, enjoying hot showers and dinner with full service.
Day 5
Haluun Uus Hot Springs
Continue your journey, cycling 50-60kms in total for the day. Along the way, stop off at the rustic Haluun Uus Hot Springs for a quick soak and refresh before continuing the afternoon’s ride.
Make camp for the evening again beside the Chuluut, relax, and let our team take care of the rest.

Day 6

Tamir River Valley
Today’s ride sees you cross over a pass separating the Chuluut River from the Tamir River Valley. Take in the views from your higher vantage point before descending again, with snacks and lunch along the way.
Enjoy your final night in tents, serviced by the support team.
Day 7
Arrive at Fairfield Arkhangai, then on to Tsenkher Hot Springs
Finish your adventure with a final 50kms ride, with the finals 20kms of paved road helping you up the last hill before arriving back at the Fairfield Arkhangai Guesthouse.
Park the bikes, then drive an hour to the Tsenkher Hot Springs for a long and rewarding soak. After easing any aches or pains from your cycling adventures, return again to Fairfield Arkhanagi for dinner and relax into a comfy bed for the night.

Fairfield to Ulaanbaatar
After a cooked breakfast in Fairfield café, say your goodbyes to Central Mongolia as our team drives you back to Ulaanbaatar.
Enjoy a final farewell dinner together in the city.
